What Causes Difficulty In Conceiving When Obese?

Hi, I have been trying to conceive for the last 10months but with no success.I do not have PCOS as per USG. Since I am obese, my doctor suggested me to take Chrominac-A. I am under Chominac-A,Duphaston 10 medication for pregnancy. I get regular periods, My cycle is about 31-32days, I have been asked to have duphaston from 16th day of my menstrual cycle for 10days. My doctor said, I will have a period post consumption of duphaston. From 3rd day of the period I have been asked for Fertyl Super for 5days. Then have a Ovulation test on 11th,13th or 15th day of that very cycle. After that visit her with the report soon. FYI, my husband already had a semen analysis which resulted out to be normal. I have started consuming duphaston-10 for 3 days and Chrominac-A for last 10days. My question is, will I get pregnant by following this regime? I know duphaston helps to increase progesterone for in strengthening your uterine lining thereby preventing implantation bleeding but does duphaston really helps in conception? Also, I had an abortion around 3.9years, does it really affects conceiving now?

Hi,

Obesity can affect fertility in several ways. It can cause hormonal imbalances that interfere with ovulation and can also impact the quality of eggs and sperm. Obese women have higher levels of estrogen, which can interfere with ovulation and reduce the chances of conceiving. Additionally, obese women are at a higher risk of developing conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), which can also affect fertility.

Chrominac-A is a supplement that contains a combination of chromium, zinc, and biotin. It is often used to treat polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), which is a common cause of infertility in obese women. Duphaston is a medication that contains progesterone and is commonly prescribed to women who have low progesterone levels. Progesterone is a hormone that is essential for a healthy pregnancy as it helps to prepare the uterine lining for implantation of the fertilized egg.

Fertyl Super is a medication that contains clomiphene citrate, which is a fertility drug that is used to stimulate ovulation. It works by increasing the production of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH), which are both essential for ovulation.

It is important to note that getting pregnant is not always easy, even for couples who are healthy and fertile. It can take up to a year of trying to conceive before pregnancy occurs, and it is not uncommon for it to take longer. However, if you have been trying to conceive for over a year without success, it may be time to seek further evaluation and treatment options.

Having an abortion in the past should not affect your ability to conceive now unless there were complications that resulted in damage to the uterus or other reproductive organs. However, it is important to discuss your medical history with your doctor to ensure that there are no underlying issues that may be contributing to your difficulty in conceiving.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
