What Causes Elongated Swelling In The Forearm Bone?

my forearm has developed a large elongated swelling along the outside of the forearm bone midway up. my arm looks deformed if i hold it up and look at it straight on. no pain at all and lump is not distinct in shape and is soft. i cannot tell if its the bone underneath or a fleshly lump.
