What Do Swelling And Inflammation In The Right Eyelid Indicate?

My right eye is swollen and my eyelid is extremely red. The right side of my face - forehead and checks are also swollen. Behind my right ear around my scalp is swollen and sore to the touch. I also have a lump about the size of a dime two inches below my right ear on my neck. Any idea what this could be?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

You are having cellulitis (infection of skin) on face.
It is commonly caused by staphylococcus bacteria.
It is also common in diabetics.
So first get done sugar levels to rule out diabetes.
You will need higher oral antibiotics, antibiotic cream, painkiller and anti inflammatory drugs.
Local application of ice packs is also beneficial.
Don't worry, you will be alright with all these in 1-2 weeks.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
