What Do Swollen Lymph Nodes Indicate?
My 9 year old woke up 9/28 with matted eyes and what appeared to be a stye. Following Monday, we went to eye dr. She found 2 swollen lymph nodes as well. Gave us eye drops and antibiotic. The next Monday we went to pediatrician. Eye is still swollen near shut most days. Now we have 4 swollen lymphodes. Gives us zpak and another antibiotic. Tomorrow will be a week. We aren’t any better. Ideas? His mouth has been horribly dryer. Bad breath which is abnormal. He has never had a good appetite so can’t judge that.

the most common cause of swelling lymph node is infection...simply if the swelling lymph node is in the neck area u need not to worry as thats assure infection of the eye or ear or pharynx or sinus...i feel your worry about other causes of sweeling lymph node but cervical lymph nodes drain eye and ear and sinuses and pharynx...when infection occur lymph node trap the virus and bacteria and causes swelling of it....if multiple lymph node swelling in other areas such as axillary and inguinal other than neck. it will need investigatiins for that....but i see from your words its cause is infection and you need not to worry..just few days and it will be fine after treatment with indicative antibiotics......wish your baby happy healthy life...thank you
