What Does Opacification Left Middle Ear And Mutiple Left Mastroid Air Cells Indicate In A CT Scan?

My 6 yr old son has had a migraine since yesterday and it was really bad so I took him to the ER. The CT scan they did showed opacification left middle ear and multiple left mastoid air cells. They didnt explain much and said he should see a neurologist. Im very worried and cant find much online. What does this mean?

Neurologist 's  Response
I read your question and I understand your concern.

That finding suggests most probably middle ear infection which should be responsible of his headache. I don't understand why they have recommended that you see a neurologist, the most appropriate specialist to confirm the diagnosis and treat that condition (if indeed infection treatment should consist of antibiotics) would be an ENT specialist (ear-nose-throat).

I hope to have been of help.
