What Is The Remedy For Pain On Back While Lying Down During Kidney Problem?

i am a 56 year old with type 2 diabetes. I just got out of the hospital 4 days ago after being treated for kidney disease. Two nights ago I started experiencing left flank pain when lying down. This slowly went away when I was sitting up. I went into the emergency and my blood and urine tests came back normal for me. The pain returned when I lay down again - on my back or right side. It diminishes when I lay on my left side. It continues to disappear after I sit up for awhile. Any suggestions as to what may be going on and what I should do about it?

Nephrologist 's  Response
Hi, welcome to HCM.
Looking to your history, it seems that your back pain is not related to kidney.
It looks like spinal pain.
Take orthopaedic/ spine surgeon consultation.
Do Imaging for spine with screening for kidney and ureter also.
I think this would be helpful to you.
Best wishes. tc.
