What To Do If Having Swollen Tonsils, Patches On Tonsils?

I have swollen tonsils and white patches on them. This morning i received a shot of penicillin and a small swig of steroid to gargle. Within just a few hours, it no longer hurt to swallow. Even though they are still swollen, eating and drinking feels normal to me. Is this just a stage or am I better?

Hi, you seem to be having acute tonsillitis (follicular) and antibiotics and steroids would have reduced the inflammation in that area. That must have reduced the pain in throat. But you need to continue treatment for few days depending upon the quantum of infection. Please use antiseptic gargles along with analgesics and that should help in resolution of problem in few days. Regards
