The response was thoughtful. The most significant learning was that a virus should not last for 3 weeks, so I concluded that I had a bacterial infection, probably in my ear. That impelled me to take antibiotics, which I generally resist taking. I had some at home, so i self medicated, and began feeling better in 24 hours.
