Dr Michelle Gibson James was a big help. The itching is not gone yet but itchy throat not lasting as long so hoping on the mends.

Dr. James' response was accurate and confirmed by my trip to the regional urgent care center -- Infection plus ruptured ear drum. Ten days of AMOX-CLAV and then a follow-up checkup with my personal physician.

Went to Dr. Next Day went to hospital via ambulance. Still in hosp. in much pain from Kidney and urinary infection that has gone sepsis schock. Thanks for advice .

Answer was excellent and made sense. I did end up going to a doctor a day or two later because it was not improving much. Turns out I have peripheral neuropathy (despite not being diabetic), which may explain why this infection didn't cause any pain to speak of. That was news to me! All is now progressing well (I'm on oral antibiotics). Thanks for the helpful counsel.
