While the information and general advice provided was interesting and possibly useful in the longer term, the main focus of my questions (and I probably didn't express myself very well) was to determine if what I was experiencing 8 days after surgery was unusual. From that perspective I was looking for someone with experience of doing or knowing about that surgery, so I don't think the answers were quite on target. This morning in fact I am better. Nonetheless, I do appreciate the responses I was given.
