After repeated traumatic incidences that were never addressed when in the Army (multiple gang MST) and then 28 1/2 years in Law Enforcement, I had quickly learned to keep ALL emotions bottled up until they finally exploded in my face with a breakdown. I gave Dr. Bishnoi a few of my psych issues - the major ones. The question I presented to Dr. Bishnoi were several frightening symptoms I'd never felt before and thought I was going crazy. I did tell him that after a foul-up at my Pharmacy, I had been off Sertraline for about 4 weeks now. (I normally take 150mg AM & PM.) He was quick to assure me I wasn't nuts but going thru severe withdrawal symptoms and should probably re-start taking it a very low dose & slowly working up. I replied that I really want to get off all the meds I'm on now - I'm tired of the chemicals in my brain & body wreaking havoc on my daily life. And since I had come this far, wouldn't it be worth it to ride out the rest of the symptoms, since the worst were probably over, and be completely free of Sertraline? Dr Bishnoi replied that at first I was in an emergency situation for being forced off that high a dose. But now that time has passed, it is no longer an emergency, and I need to contact the Doc that treats my psych needs and see whether I really need to go back on it or can actually stay off it. Without Dr Bishnoi's reassurance I would have continued to think all those symptoms were from going crazy for an unknown reason. He explained what a serious situation I had put myself in - Pharmacy or my fault - and then in both replies talked to me in words that I could understand - words unlike a Doctor's sig on an Rx, LOL!! I am VERY grateful for what I learned from Dr Bishnoi and will be taking his advice to my next Dr appt. (It is quite some time away, hence I used your marvelous service.) Please tell Dr Bishnoi that people like me are extremely lucky to have staff such as Dr Bishnoi participating in this service. If I ever have another serious med question & need help, I know where to go - now only if I could be sure to get Dr Bishnoi to be the replying Doctor! Once again, I deeply thank Dr Bishnoi for what he has done for me. I'm no longer terrified and am armed with information that will help me move forward in my life!
