You helped me focus on what was important. I did take him to Urgent Care, as his neck was bothering him more and he was still hot and wanted to be in bed (!). Got ibuprofen for the fever and amoxicillin for large tonsils that looked like strep. The doc said kids around his age and older develop body aches with strep. His initial test was negative; if the 24 and 48 hour results are negative, I'll stop the amoxicillen. Thank you for your input.
