Ayurveda is a native system of medicine from India, which works to balance the body’s life energy -- referred to as the doshas. This is achieved by diet, different types of massage, pouring herbal liquid onto the body, and covering the body with herbal leaves and powders.
It is an herb that has been shown to relieve tension as it nourishes the nerves and heals them from the strain of excessive stimulus. It is also said to strengthen and tone all muscle tissues including the heart and lungs. It increases muscle tone while concurrently soothing muscular inflammation. It has been thought to be an ideal remedy for muscular aches, pains, & stiffness, weakness and low body weight.

Tulasi leaves are used extensively throughout the Indian Subcontinent and in many homes are grown for religious and cultural purposes. It has been shown to alleviate fevers, control coughing, and help with indigestion. It has also been shown to help with the treatment of Urinary Tract Infections.
It is marketed and extensively used in India to promote mental well being and help with Memory. It is said to have a calming influence and promote alertness. At the same time many Ayurvedic scholars believe it helps in regulating the circadian rhythm (the Day-Night sleep cycle).
Guduchi is celebrated for its rejuvenating properties. It has been shown to help detoxify the liver and is thought to be an aphrodisiac as well.
Vacha is an herb which grows throughout South East Asia and used as a detoxifying agent and a mood stabilizer. It has been demonstrated to be an effective de-worming agent as well. There are researches ongoing into the use of this herb to manage seizure disorders.
Triphala is thought to be a cleanser of the digestive tract. There is an ongoing research into its use for Anemia (decreased red blood cell count). It has been shown to have large amounts of Vitamin C. Its antioxidant qualities strengthen and cleanse the liver, while maintaining and nourishing new tissue growth.
Pippali, or piper longum, is a warm and aromatic pepper-like herb which is thought to reduce cholesterol and promote weight loss. It has also been used traditionally for breathing disorders.
Used by many Ayurvedic practitioners for women with painful menstrual cycles and irregular cycles. It theoretically cools the symptoms of inflammation during menstruation & menopause, increases fertility and reduces emotional irritability.
Gokshura has been used in the management of Urinary tract infections and painful urination in women. It is also thought to be an aphrodisiac.
Neem is another very popular Ayurvedic product which is being extensively researched for its antibiotic properties.
