Anti-cancer features of Soursop (Graviola) Fruit

Soursop, a fruit of graviola tree, is believed to be a natural cancer-killer and proven to be 10,000 times stronger than chemotherapy (an oral or intravenous regimen commonly used to treat cancers). However its cancer fighting properties were just found in the laboratories (in vitro) and are yet to be implemented for clinical trials on humans. 

Anti-Cancer Features of Soursop

• With the limited data available, it is believed to help treat some type of liver and breast cancer.
• Some chemicals in Graviola may keep the cancer cells from removing the drugs, whilesome other chemicals help kill the cancer cells. Chemicals in Soursop such as annonaceous acetogenins inhibit the development of damaged cells just before they become cancerous. The same chemicals are also known to inhibit the tumor cell growth in vitro (lab).
• These chemicals were also found to down-regulate Epidermal growth factor regulating receptors on breast cancer cells, thus inhibiting the growth of breast cancer cells.
• They are toxic to multidrug-resistant human mammary adenocarcinoma cells. It is alsonow known that they inhibit tumorigenicity and metastasis of pancreatic cancer cells in laboratory and in humans through altering cell metabolism.
• Graviola is also used to treat infections caused by bacteria and parasites including leishmaniasis, herpes and cough apart from cancer.
