Question : I am 37 weeks pregnant. 5'1, 142 lbs. My blood pressure was 130/96. Is this too high?
Hello XXXXXXX
Your blood pressure happens to be borderline. 130 is fine but 96 is definitely borderline. Now,hypertension cannot be diagnosed with just one reading. There has to be at least 3 consistently high reading,ie,140/90. You need to avoid salt in your diet. Daily monitoring of blood pressure is important. You are almost at term and high blood pressure at this time isnt acceptable. It needs to be managed asap.
You already have GDM,so hypertension is possible.
