Congestion in chest mostly gone, head ache gone, just a little coughing left, but a soreness where my legs meet by sack on both sides and this constant tingling/pain in my butt and down both my legs. I have been doing some research... could this be an infection in my Bulbourethal Glands? If so, is it bad, and how do I treat it?

Brief Answer:
It does not seem to be a infection of bulbourethral glands.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
welcome to health care magic,

All these symptoms of yours (low grade fever, lower back pain, congestion of lungs, headache, leg pain) could be as a result of viral infection of upper respiratory tract or bronchitis with chest congestion for which you had taken Alka-Seltzer plus for symptomatic relief and it worked very well as almost all your symptoms subsided quickly.

You are having pain and tingling sensations over both legs and buttocks respectively which might be due to your viral fever but they do not seem to a because of infection of bulbourethral glands here unless you have symptoms like pain or burning during urination, difficulty in urinating or fever with chills, lower abdominal pain, frequent urination.

As you don't seem to be any urinary symptoms here,so we can not say infection of bulbourethral glands by having just history of leg pain and tingling over buttocks.

You can go for routine blood count, urine routine/micro and ultrasound of abdomen with pelvis to rule out any genitourinary problem to clear remaining doubts.

You can continue symptomatic treatment like analgesics,anti-inflammatory or antihistamines with multivitamins for further 2 to 3 days to get resolved remaining symptoms or you can consult surgeon for further check up.

Thanks and Regards,

OK, Good news not in those glands. And to confirm, I have no burning or sensitivity when urinating. I do urinate quite frequently, but I also drink over a gallon of water daily, so I just contribute frequency to amount of water consumption. All of my other symptoms are not gone EXCEPT for the constant tingling/pain in my legs and buttock... Is it possible that is just a lingering side-effect of the viral infections, even though all the other symptoms are gone? How long should I expect that to last before I should be concerned and visit a local doctor?

Brief Answer:
Should be subsided within a week.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,

Thanks for the follow-up query,

As i explained earlier it could not be due to infection of bulbourethral glands unless there is any genitourinary symptoms.

Some people might have back pain or headache or weakness or fatigue after resolution of viral fever episode for about a week.

In your case, it is a pain in both legs and tingling over buttocks as stated by you which should be subsided within a week and yes, drinking plenty of water certainly gonna help to you to get rid off the remaining symptoms as early as possible.

So,there is no need to worry much and take a rest for couple of days for speedy recovery.

Hope i have cleared all your doubts now.

Thanks and Regards,
