Question : I just want to know that if I start taking insulin, will I ever be able to stop? And, if so, how do I go about stopping?
Brief Answer:
You cannot stop insulin
Detailed Answer:
Hi
When a person is diagnosed with Diabetes for first time,we prescribe oral medicines, proper diet, exercise.
After few years, oral medicines won't work. Then ,we shift to insulin.
So,in your case,if metformin is not controlling your blood sugar, you have to shift to insulin injections.
It is better not to stop insulin once started .
The main aim is to keep blood sugar levels under control.
If you have any queries,i will clarify further
Wish you good health
Regards
