Question : Hi doctor in the month of March 2014 dog bite my friend after two days of biting the dog died .Then he took 3 dose of rabise vaccine .The schedule was 0 . 3.7 he did not complete the series . Now he is very worry about it. What should he do now. Sir please tall me about the duration of 3 dose of rabise vaccine (0 3 7)

No further doses are needed.

Hello, Sir/Madam.

I understand your concern.

0,3, 7 is the standard dose schedule for post-exposure prophylaxis.

The fourth dose on day 14 is needed only in the presence of underlying immunocompromised state, but not in all cases.

Hence your need not worry as of now as he does not have any symptoms.

So just relax.

In case if you want to complete the series, 2 doses are recommended on DAY 0 and 3.But this only optional and not must in your case.
