Question : I am allergic to penicillin is it safe to take neomycin and polymyxin ear drops for an infection?

Neomycin and polymyxin ear drops belong to a different category of medicines and can be used in patients allergic to penicillin.

However if you develop itching, redness, burning sensation or redness of the ear, then it would be advisable to stop the drops and meet your ent doctor again
