Brief Answer:
Drug interaction: Unlikely in my opinion

Detailed Answer:
Hello ma'am and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. In my opinion, most of the allergy shots should not interfere with drugs like xarelto and anti-hypertensives, but then again it would be best to know which allergy shots are going to be administered, just so I can make sure there are no risks of an interaction.

As you must know ma'am, each medication can have its own effect and so we cannot categorise an entire group (anti-histamine medications; i.e. allergy shots) as one. So if you could write back to me with the specific medications being administered, I can completely confirm/rule out the chances of an interaction.

But in my opinion, anti-histamines should not interact or have minimum chances of interaction with other medications. I look forward to hearing from you in order to further help you. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help you.

Best wishes.

Thank you doctor for answering so fast. This is the medication I am using:mylan-telmisartan 40 mg(twice a day),teva-bisoprolol 5 mg,crestor 20mg,teva-amlodipine 5 mg and xarelto 20mg.They control my high blood preassure and the palpitations, while xarelto replaced Plavix, as I was alergic to it..I had a stent inplanted in my right artery 6 years ago. This medications control all my symptons very well. The alergy shots are for:paper wasps, yellow jacket and hornet sting alergies, as I was attacked by the storm of wasps this summer and had a very bad reaction. My question is for the lowering of the blood preassure that my medication controls now and adding alergy shots can reduce it even more?

Brief Answer:
I concur with your doctor

Detailed Answer:
Hello once again ma'am.

Thank you so much for the detailed response.

I concur with your doctor, the allergy shots should not interfere with your current medications and I do not think they should cause a further reduction or lowering of your blood pressure as suspected by you, as this has rarely ever happened.

But if I were your doctor I would although carefully monitor your blood pressure and blood coagulation profile for at least a week from introducing the allergy shots into your regimen just to make sure all is well.

I hope this information helps you ma'am and I hope and pray you do not experience any unfortunate reactions, and enjoy good health and a beautiful life ahead. Please do not hesitate to write to me about anything under the roof. No doubt is too small and no question is too simple.

Best wishes ma'am.
