Question : Why at 52 and half years am I still having periods. I'm not on any hormones is this bad?

Thanks for writing to healthcare magic.
The age of menarche I.e starting of period and menopause when periods end is determined genetically.
Usually in women who have early menarche have early menopause and those who had menarche late may continue to bleed into their early 50's.
As long as you have had your papsmear and you are bleeding regularly with normal flow there is no need to worry.
If there is any irregularity then a ultrasound has to be done to check the Endometrium thickness.
If ultrasound shows normal uterus and regular endometrium then there is no need to worry.
Besides as you are not on any hormones you can expect your period to stop in a year or 2. Hope this was helpful.
