Posted on Wed, 12 Oct 2016
Question: My daughter (10 years and 41KG) is suffering from cold and high fever since y'day night. We were giving her Crocin DS 14ml and Zyrcold 5ml. Someone suggested me to replace Crocin DS syrup with Crocin 500mg.

My wife bought a strip of tab with name 'Crocin Advance'. Is this the right course? Patient also suffering from shivering (once). Its been 2 hours since we have given her Crocin tab and her temerature is 101. But she is feeling bit energetic.

Brief Answer:
You may give Crocin Advance instead of Crocin

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
You may give Crocin advance instead of Crocin. It will have same action.
Just wait for one more hour for fever to come down. If it doesn't improve then give Syp. Meftal P as I suggested earlier earlier. Do sponging if shivering improve. Ensure that you get her tests done as suggested if shivering persists for more than a day.
Hopefully it will be of help.
Take care
