Question : I asked this question last week and it was my understanding I would receive a reply by email. So let me try again. Could having Gilbert's disease (liver) result in a false positive for cocaine?
Brief Answer:
Consultation
Detailed Answer:
Hello, and thanks for your question.
I have reviewed available literature on this subject. It is simply not possible for Gilbert's to cause a false positive for cocaine. Certain medications can in very rare instances cause a false positive. But the likelihood of this is less than 1%.
