Question : If you had an initial outbreak of hsv 2 on your genetals can you get subsequent outbreaks on your face too or will it remain just on the genetals?

HSV 2 can not manifest over face during recurrences.

HSV 2 can not manifest other parts of the body apart from ano- genital area and around. It will not recur over face or other parts of the body. Whereas HSV 1 infection commonly occur in and around mouth and nose but can be transmitted to genital also through oral sex.
