Can Omeprazole Cause Dry Eyes And Dry Mouth?
Question: Hello I suffer with very dry mouth and dry as skin and I take x2 omeprazole daily 1 am/pm .

Well dry eyes and dry mouth are miscellaneous symptoms which can have many causes. I would like to cut down on the few most common so we can manage it accordingly
1. Firstly the drugs like diuretics which you are taking can cause dry mouth as it removes lot of fluid and cause a bit of dehydration in the body. So you have to keep yrself hydrated
2. Do you have any history of diabetes?
3. Any history of fatigue/joint pains/ hair fall/ parotid glands enlargement
4. Did you get your schrimmers test done...that is the test to detect dry eyes
Dry eyes need to be managed with the refresh eye drops( artificial tears )use lacrigel ointment to keep it moist and prevent particles from collecting in. For dry mouth you should try using chewing gums and use biotin paint as well to keep it clean.
Do let me know these queries. Will try to figure out any treatable causes if there

It is mostly seen with a disease called sjogrens syndrome. It can be diagnosed when clinical and lab co relation go together. So kindly do the following tests and the reports will give us the exact diagnosis:
