Should He Stop Taking Metoprolol Or Sotalol?
My father was recently d/c from hospital for pneumonia, possibile Amiodarone Induced Pulmonary Toxicity & CHF. He was placed on Sotalol 80 mg twice a day & he is already taking metoprolol 100mg once a day. His history is complex, HTN, CAD, 2 vessel CABG w/Valve replacement & repair, Atrial Fibrillation, Congestive Heart Failure, Biventricular Pacermaker/Defibrilator, & Hypothyroidism. He has been Hypotensive since his discharge. Should he stop the Sotalol or Metoprolol until he can follow-up on Monday w/Cardiologist. They have already stopped his Lisinopril, Diltazem & Imdur.

It may be OK to stop the metoprolol but that has to be done cautiously since suddenly stopping a beta blocker can result in rebound hypertension.
It would be best to call his doctor or the cardiologist and discuss this with them since I can't in good faith tell you to stop the medication on your own
