Can STD Be Contracted Through Protected Vaginal And Oral Sex?

Question: Hi,
I am a male 37 years old. I had a protected vaginal and oral sex with a high risk female. Post that I left for vacation to XXXXXXX in March about 1 week after the incident. When in XXXXXXX I developed symptoms for a fungal infection. I saw a doctor and he diagnosed it as Candida Balanoposthitis. He prescribed me an antifungal cream and medication. This made me very sick and I stopped taking it. I waited till I got back home to the US and showed it to my GP. He made the same diagnoses and prescribed me mycolog II and Terbinafine once a day. After taking it for a week I also developed frequent urination. I told him about the incident and he tested me for chlamydia and gonorrhea which came negative. He tested my urine and found blood and some bacterial infection. He said it is an infection of the prostate. So he put me on 2 weeks of Doxycyline 100mg twice a day and flowmax .4 mg once a day. I took this for 2 weeks and the symptoms did not improve. Other symptoms I have are occasional groin and lower abdomen pain. Mild pain. There is not discharge from penis. He asked me to see a urologist and I got the appointment 2 weeks from now. So my GP asked me to continue on the flomax and doxycycline till I see the urologist.

The situation now is
I am still applying the mycolog II (tried stopping for 2 days and symptoms for balantis came back)
Taking doxycyline 100 mg twice a day
taking fomax .4 mg twice a day.

My question is can this still be a std? Should I test for chlamydia and gonorrohea again? Is it ok to take the test while I am on doxycycline.

I did not have any kind of sex after that incident.

Brief Answer:
NO need to repeat, supportive care only now

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. With negative STDs work up its not gonorrhea and chlamydia. No need to repeat STD test. However that fungal infection may be causing the irritation of urethra / urethritis causing this frequency. Also enterobacter in culture and sensitivity reports make it bacterial UTI likely prostatitis as well . So just continue on the treatment lines with antibiotics and antifungals prescribed, maintain a good hygiene, no coitus or masturbation for a while, I believe its too early to have flomax indicated or prostate enlarged but do as directed by your doctor unless they clear it out.

I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.
