Brief Answer:
Possibly yes

Detailed Answer:
Sorry to note how you are feeling right now.

1 The 50 mg is likely a typo. You probably mean 50 mcg synthroid.

2 If 'hypothyroidism' (an under active thyroid) is correctly diagnosed then synthroid/levothyroxine must not be stopped at all.

3 So if your doctor/endocrinologist found the 50 mcg dose appropriate earlier (prior to you stopping it by yourself) based on an in-person assessment and laboratory testing, the it should be safe to resume.

4 However, when I see someone like you in my practice I order the following tests in addition to a thorough exam:

CBC
CMP
TSH
Free T4
Thyroid auto antibodies (anti TPO and anti Thyroglobulin)
25 hydroxy vitamin D
DXA bone density
Cardiac evaluation

It is important to have less stringent TSH goals if you have severe untreated osteoporosis or heart problems (such as irregular rhythm or chest pains from blocked arteries)
