Can Zohydro Be Taken Safely Instead Of Methadone Without Any Side Effects?

Question: I've been taking methadone for pain for eight years today I'm switching to 2-40 mg tabs of the Zohydro. Should I anticipate any problems?

Thanks for writing to us. I can understand your concern.

Methadon is an opioid. You are taking since 8 years means you are tolerant to opioids.

Zohydro contains hydrocodone which is also an opioid. 80 mg is highest recommended dose of zohydro in opioid tolerant patient. So you will not get any withdrawal and there will be no problem.

No need to worry and just follow your doctor's instructions.
