Even if it is the vaginal gel? Why cant you have alcohol?
Brief Answer:
the vaginal gel won't cause you any problems
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
you hadn't specified the route of administration, so I assumed the most common one (by mouth). Applying vaginal gel won't result in high blood concentrations of the drug, so the interaction with alcohol is unlikely.

Thank you for your help.
Just to clairfy: I started my first does of the Metrogel Vaginal Gel .75% on Sunday (3.15) and took my last dose last night (3.19).
Therefore you think I will be ok to have a glass of wine or two tonight and I wont get sick?

Brief Answer:
It's most likely OK
Detailed Answer:
As I've implied there IS some systemic effect of metronidazole when applied in the vagina albeit minimal, so an interaction can't be excluded.
Due to the low amount of metronidazole that entered your blood, it's probably safe to drink 24 hours after stopping the gel. If you'd like to be 100% sure though, then give it a couple more days before drinking.
Kind Regards!
