default
Posted on Thu, 15 Sep 2016
Question: Hi. I am a little concern because for about 2 or 3 days I've been feeling short of breath. I have to take deep breaths to feel I'm getting enough air. it had happened before due to anxiety. but lately I also feel a mild chest pressure and a weird feeling on the heart beating. like when you get a strong emotion and you feel your heart drops for a second. is that something to worry about our could it be related to anxiety?

Brief Answer:
Relax. Anxiety indeed seems to be the cause.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on healthcaremagic.

I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. Going by the description, anxiety indeed seems to be the likely cause. It seems that you are having panic attacks. The solution is relaxation. I would encourage you to visit your doctor and to get clinically evaluated. Your doctor could prescribe anxiolytics like alprazolam which could help.

Meditation and yoga are helpful in relieving anxiety.
