Question: Since the 60mg tablet is scored, & a half tablet may be taken to achieve a 30mg dose, may the 30mg tablet also be broken in half to achieve a 15mg dose?

Brief Answer:
I dont think so

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.

Imdur CR 60 mg is controlled release preparation. It is to be taken once a day. Controlled release tablets are coated from outside so that the medicine is released slowly over an extended period of time. It can be broken into half, but cannot be broken further or crushed as it will not work properly.

Isosorbide moninitrate (constituent of imdur) is also available as immediate release type of tablet. You may switch over to this type for smaller doses. But its dose would be twice a day.

Hope it helps.
