Does Lisnopril, Adovastatin, Isosorbide, Aggrenox, Metoprolol And Trazedone Usage Could Cause Constipation?

My dad is on different medication and just came home from the hospital, he just told me he s been constipated since he s been home and is wondering if any of his medication would cause that. His medications are lisnopril, adovastatin,Isosorbide, Aggrenox, Metoprolol and trazedone

Hello,

Of the medications that you listed, the only one that I think could possibly cause constipation is the Metoprolol, but this would be rare and I do not think it is the cause in your dad's case.

Especially after just coming out of the hospital, if he is not moving around as much, or not drinking enough water, I think these would be more likely causes.

I would suggest he drink plenty of water, stay active as much as possible, and use something like Miralax or bisacodyl if he is still having trouble with constipation.
