Question : I have had unprotected sex twice 11 years back .. I did not feel any serious illness past 11 years not even fever more than 2 days.. is there any possible to get HIV after these many years?

Brief Answer: Please do a lab test for HIV to set your mind free Detailed Answer: Hi there XXXXXXX No one can give you a guarantee or tell you for sure if the virus is present (albeit latent) in your body or not. HIV can remain latent sans manifesting as AIDS for the record & there is a very small percentage of people in whom the virus remains dormant or does not manifest into overt AIDS (just playing the devil's advocate here & being objective). In all these years, if symptom free, you should be fine. The best thing is 'objectivity'. After all these years, if you have not tested for HIV, please do a simple Elisa for HIV test or a PCR test for mRNA. The latter is more 'sensitive' & will pick up even small viral loads.
