Posted on Tue, 8 Nov 2016
Question: I have tried everything for the pain related to arthritis in my feet. Conventional medications are working to relive the pain. Over the counter solutions work for a short period at a time. I have been reading about turmeric and it's benefits relating to inflammation and arthritis related conditions. What benefit if any would turmeric be.

Brief Answer:
it is an anti-inflammatory

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you for the question.
Turmeric is a great anti-inflammatory and can be used successfully in people who have side effects such as gastritis or ulcers when taking standard medications for inflammation like motrin, aleve, diclofenac or celebrex.
That said it does not work better than those medications, it is just an alternative with less side effects.
Also it is not the turmeric that you buy in the grocery store. If you want to try it you should get a brand that is made in the US and is made for joint support.
You could try a combination of Turmeric and glucosamine and see if that would give you any relief.
They both work on different ways to support joints and help relieve pain.
I wish you the best.
