Question: Hi, my daughter started out early this morning with diarrhea, vomiting, and body aches. Since then the diarrhea has stopped and no vomitting the last few hours. But now has severe leg and back pain that has caused her to cry. At first thought stomach bug or food poisioning.

Hello,
Welcome to healthcare magic.
Thank you for your query.

After vomiting & diarrhea, level of ionized calcium tends to decrease.
As a result cramping pain occurs at the limb & back.
Sometimes cramping muscle spasm occurs.
It is usually compensated within few hours.

Give her normal diet & oral rehydration solution.
If not responding then IV calcium should be given.
In that case you have to consult a doctor.

I hope I have been some help of your query.
Please write if you have any doubt.
Take care.
