What Is The Dosage Of Ofloxacin And Ornidazole?

I ve been suffering very severe diarrhea for two days, needing the toilet almost every 15 to 20 minutes when I m awake. This is accompanied with a 40 degree fever and very low energy. I took 3 doses of Ciproflaxin 500mg, but with no effect. A med student just gave me ofloxacin and ornidazole (O2) and some rehydration salts. Questions: What is the dosage for O2, two times a day or only one time a day? I haven t eaten for 40 hours, but I have no appetite. Should I eat? What kind of infection might I have that ciproflaxin couldn t treat? Could it be typhoid? The doctor also gave me Pantop-D. I think this is some kind of antacid. Is this necessary? I haven t noticed any problems with acid or stomach pain... Finally, can I continue to take IBprofun with these drugs for my fever and aches? THANK YOU

Hi,

O2 is a combination of Ofloxacin and ornidazole (200+500). This is usually taken twice daily for 3 to 5 days for gastroenteritis. Probiotics should be taken while taking this. You can take curd and bananas which are good probiotics. Ibuprofen should be avoided. You can take Acetaminophen instead.
