Question : My 7 yr old grandaughter has a cough for several weeks following flu symptoms. Now has low fever, neck pain, headache, sleeplessness

The flu like symptoms along with cough and fever plus neck pain clearly stats the she is having respiratory tract infections. As the cough has lasted for several weeks, it also suggests allergic status.

It is recommended to consult pediatrician as she may require antibiotics according to her body weight and other drugs as well. for flu loratidine syrup 5mg once a day and aminophylline syrup for cough 5 ml thrice a day. both are on the counter drugs.
