Brief Answer:
hsv 1 causes mouth lesions usually, mouth rash would not affect delivery

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

HSV 1 normally causes lesions on the mouth. It is true that it is very common

It rarely causes lesions in the genital region.

The presence of a rash or lesion on the mouth would not play a role in delivering a baby vaginally or by surgery.
Only if there are lesions in the vaginal region.

If the mother has a VAGINAL outbreak at the time of delivery, the doctors may then consider surgery.
Even if she has a mouth rash at the time, it would not make a difference in delivery options

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions

Thank you
But if I have hsv one in my mouth there is every possibility that I might pass on this to my life partner. So is the probebility high for her to get it in her mouth

Brief Answer:
spread by direct contact, baby would have contact with genitalia

Detailed Answer:
Hi

yes, it is possible that it be passed to your partners mouth but only if she gets a rash in her genitalia would it be a problem during pregnancy or delivery

It is infectious on contact, not spread via the blood stream.
This means it would be only be a problem if a baby came into contact with a lesion.

For a baby to come into contact with a lesion during childbirth, she would need to have a rash in the genitalia

A baby, during birth, would not be able come into contact with a rash by her mouth only genitalia region.

Even if she gets a rash in the mouth, would not affect delivery, no contact during childbirth with this area

Please feel free to ask anything else

So in May case she might get it in her mouth right. Chance of getting it around her genital area is less?

Brief Answer:
yes, she can get mouth lesions

Detailed Answer:
HI

If you have oral herpes then there is a chance that she can be affected in her mouth via contact.

If oral intercourse is done at the time of an active lesion on the mouth ( and also rarely when there is no obvious mouth rash), it is then possible to give someone a rash in the genitalia

This is the only way the mouth rash would be transferred to the genitalia region
