Question : Hi I am taking leviquin, prednisone and mucinex to battle pneumonia as a result of influenza B. I was on augmentin for bronchitis but it has tuned in to pneumonia so I was switched to leviquin. Can I take benadryl with these meds?

Hi, I am Dr Anshul Varshney , I have read your query in detail , I understand your concern.

Benadryl is a cough suppressant and anti allergic as well. It can be taken with these medicines and it doesn't interact with them.

It may help you a little bit in reducing the coughing episodes.

My personal opinion would be to add up an anti allergic like a combination of Levocetrizine and montelukast along with the medicines that you have been taking instead of Benadryl.
