Question : Good evening,
I have a question, my doctor prescribed me Biaxin as an antibiotic for an infection by my jaw- i believe it is coming from my tooth.
How long will it take for the medication to clear up the infection and have swelling go down so I can make a dentist appt.

Well,first the origin of infection should be established. if this is tooth infection then it should work within 2 days. if not,then you may need another antibiotic or see specialist for more detailed evaluation of this swelling. Drainage and tooth extraction may be required.
