Watch for the side-effects mentioned in the answer

Detailed Answer:
Hi,thank you for posting your query on health care magic.

I can understand your concern.

Claritin contains Loratidine. It is an Antihistaminic medicine used in the treatment of allergic symptoms like Sneezing, watery Nasal Discharge,Itching, etc.
Dose for a 4 year old child would be 5mg per day.

Dimetapp Childrens Cold and Allergy contains
Brompheniramine 2mg-it is an Antihistaminic used in Allergic symptoms.Dose is 2 mg orally twice daily in two to 6 years of age and
Phenylephrine 5mg-it is a Decongestant -used in nasal congestion and nasal blockage. It is generally not to be used in children less than 6 years of age.
The dose of Phenyleprine in children more than 6 years of age is 5mg twice daily.

Reported side effects of using Phenyephrine in a few patients are Restlessness or excitability in children,Skin rash or itching, dizziness or lightheaded,Fast heartbeat,Difficulty breathing,Convulsions, etc.

Your daughter has also used more dose of Antihistamine as she has taken Loratidine and Brompheniramine.
Due to this she might suffer from Sleepiness.

You may watch for the above symptoms .If any of these occur ,then it would be advisable to consult a Pediatrician.

You should try following care in your 4 year daughter with cold:
A cool mist humidifier helps nasal passages shrink and allow easier breathing.
Saline nose drops or spray keep nasal passages moist and helps avoid stuffiness
Drinking plenty of liquids will help children stay hydrated.

Hope this answers your question.I would be happy to answer if you have any follow-up questions.Take care.
