Question : Hi doctor my son is around 5 years old and is having severe coughing can phexin be working to give him relief as he is not even able to sleep due to coughing

phexin is unlikely to relieve cough

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,welcome to HCM forum.

Phexine is an antibiotic,and is unlikely to give rapid relief of cough.Antibiotics are prescribed for control of infection when cough is associated with symptoms like fever and yellow sputum.

For relief of cough,you can use anti histamines like levocetirezine 2.5mg once daily,or cetirezine 5mg once daily for 3-5 days.This can give some sedation too.

Also,consult your doctor next morning,so that we can have a chest examination and proper treatment accordingly.

Meanwhile,keep him away from fan/AC vent.
