Yes, abnormal hair loss is one of known side effects of Propylthiiuracil (PTU). It is not seen in everyone on PTU.I would recommend to discuss with your physician if he would want to consider switching to Neo-mercazole(Carbimazole) which is the next best alternative to prevent further hair growth.
