Does Sulfonamide Cause Hives?

Question: I am allergic to sulfa drugs and am having a hard time finding a blood pressure medicine I can take been thru 6 kinds can you recommend any? I am on clonidine .1 mg/day patch and it gives me hives too. I know diuretics contain sulfa, I see my doctor on Thursday and wanted to suggest something else.
