Is It Dangerous To Take Diazepam, Furosemide, Losartan, Amlodipin And Salsalate Together?
yes my father is taking a lot of medicines. and we are worried that they may enact/inact with reach other. this is a list of meds he taking: Diazepam, Furosemide, Losartan, Clonidine HCL, Amlodipine, and Salsalate, plus a cholesterol pill could you please help me.
There are possible interactions between your dad's medications. It is important to understand that though interaction are possible, they may not occur in everyone and he may be fine. You may need to speak to his doctor to see if changes in medication are possible or necessary, it would be best for him to consult his doctor and not stop his medication on his own.
Possible interactions include interactions between Losartan and Salsalate- They both affect the effect of each other, they may also both increase potassium levels. Clonidine and diazepam may potentially effect each other as well.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson, General & Family Physician
