Brief Answer:
no negative effect on treatment

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

the pill should be taken with empty stomach so you did well to avoid eating after taking them. It doesn't matter that you drunk two glasses of water. Water won't affect their absorption.

Kind Regards!

sir so taking much of water doesn't effect treatment even if breakfast is taken more than two and half hours as I am little bit worried from last two days

Brief Answer:
water doesn't make any difference

Detailed Answer:
taking them with an empty stomach improves absorption. They shouldn't be taken with food, so waiting for at least a couple of hours before eating is recommended.

Water on the other hand, does not affect their absorption and helps to swallow the drugs easier, therefore improving absorption and effectiveness. There is no reason to worry...

sir so my treatment will not effected with taking two glass of water ,for four pills as of know I started taking pills with just maximum one glass of water
doctor
Answered by Dr. Panagiotis Zografakis (10 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
no problem...

Detailed Answer:
There is no problem with that. Water will be absorbed by the stomach really fast without affecting the drug in any way. Taking a full glass (or two glasses) makes sure that the drug will end up in the stomach instead of being stuck in the esophagus (and causing pill-induced esophagitis).

sir hence taking more water with pills will not effect my treatment
doctor
Answered by Dr. Panagiotis Zografakis (33 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
it won't affect treatment

Detailed Answer:
Water is readily absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract, so it does not really affect their absorption. Taking the pills with meals will affect their absorption and is not recommended.

I hope it's clear now!

sir within one and half our if taking akurit 3 pills my urine color changed to orange is it OK, or the absorption of pills was insufficient
doctor
Answered by Dr. Panagiotis Zografakis (12 hours later)
Brief Answer:
this is an expected side effect

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

rifampin (one of the active substances of this pill) is expected to change urine color to orange, so that's normal. Don't worry about it!

Kind Regards!

sir if at all urine color changed to orange ,means the absorption of pills are effective or not
doctor
Answered by Dr. Panagiotis Zografakis (8 hours later)
Brief Answer:
Can't say for sure

Detailed Answer:
Orange color in the urine means that some or all of the drug was absorbed. Nobody can certify adequate absorption based on urine color. Just follow instructions and everything will be fine.

sir is this intake of water really matters whether I swallowed the tablets comfortably in morning in empty stomach or not this is more important,as till date I took tablets regularly
doctor
Answered by Dr. Panagiotis Zografakis (2 hours later)
Brief Answer:
water does not make any difference

Detailed Answer:
That's what I've been telling you from the start... Water is not a big deal. One or two glasses are just fine. It's food that makes a difference. The drugs should be taken with an empty (from food) stomach.

Kind Regards!
