Question : 4 days ago I got the flu shot. 3 days ago a fainted. Since then I have been very queasy, having tingling in my hands, and feel off balance. I feel slightly feverish and the tingling is accompanied by anxiety like feelings that keep me awake. I went to a clinic and my vitals signs were normal. Could the flu shot cause these symtpoms for 4 days? THANKS, XXXX

I am Dr. Prakash HM and I will be answering your query.

Looking at the clinical symptoms and query, my opinion is as follows:

1. No flu shot does not cause these symptoms. If it were allergic reaction, you would have itching and swelling at the site of flu shot. I do not think, you have any.

2. Possibility include dehydration along with mild electrolyte abnormalities or stress.

Take plenty of fluids. Dehydration could cause fainting and other vascular symptoms.
Symptoms are nervous system related and maybe due to vitamin deficiencies. If you are not on Vit B12 therapy, do take it.
As vital signs are normal, not to worry.
