Question : It may sound crazy, but i am pre-renal & see a urologist regularly. My husband uses gold bond powder on and off, lately more. I came home from work and he demanded oral sex, said he washed and powdered. I noticed the smell of powder was eesp. strong. I shortly thereafter began vomitting and could not stop even with my Zofran my dr prescribes me. Luckily i had a suppository left from a gi bug, prochlorperazine 25mg. I have been having back pain for a few days on lhe right side above butt. I bumped into renal dr at work last night and told of back pain. I also have a hx of kidney stones X2. He said he will order scan, urine analysis, but thinks it's nothing. Now this happens. I read the back of gold bond and thought i better talk to someone, but embarassed to talk to renal dr now. What should i do?

                                    Brief Answer:
Effects of Gold bond powder are transient
Detailed Answer:
Hello Madam
I can certainly understand your concern.
Gold bond powder can cause nausea and vomiting when accidentally ingested. But itis effects are transient and will resolve spontaneously in most cases.
Considering your lower side and back ache with a history of renal stones and a pre renal failure, it's important to consider a panel of renal imaging tests as prescribed by your doctor to come to a reasonable conclusion.
Further management is largely based on test results.
Post your further questions if any.
Thank you.
