Brief Answer:
Safe to start Antibiotic syrup

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Madam.

I can certainly understand your concerns.

As per the history described, it is okay to continue sinarest for another 3 days.

At the same time it is important to rule out lower respiratory infection, considering his fast breathing. This can be assessed by an X Ray chest .

Since he is active , there is nothing much to worry about.

A 5 day course of antibiotic syrup will be helpful .

I generally prescribe Syrup Augmentin(Co-AmoxyClav) 1 tsp 2 to 3 times a day for 3 days. Please check with your physician if he shares my view and if can prescribe it to your baby.

Antibiotic syrup can be started on a empirical/presumptive basis as well.

Post your further queries if any.
